With the impending weather shifts there is often an internal shift too and we can find ourselves struggling with feeling out of sorts. Daily Dandy is a caffeine-free ritual designed to restore rhythm and warmth to everyday life.

I began making this to support our family through the shifting seasons. There are many wonderful dandelion blends out there, but most of them include chicory, which l am sensitive to, hence this blend was born.

This dense blend contains:

  • A base of roasted dandelion traditionally enjoyed as a nourishing, bitter-sweet root tea and often as an alternative to coffee.

  • Astragalus, reishi and ashwaghanda are included for their long association with steadiness and resilience.

  • Ginger and cardamom which bring warmth and digestive ease, two key needs in the cooler months. I was also inspired by Karak style chai blends that are much simpler than masala chai, often only including ginger and cardamom, and sometimes rose.

Daily Dandy is a caffeine-free pep up to restore your rhythm when it gets out of whack — something that the wild winds of autumn often bring and that warming, grounding herbs can soothe!

  • Roasted dandelion, astragalus root, ashwaghanda root, ginger pieces, cardamom pods.

  • Add 1 - 1 ½ teaspoons to a single cup strainer, or 2 - 3 teaspoons to a coffee plunger. Cover with boiling water. Allow to brew for up to 5 minutes. Serve with milk.

    Brew a stronger cup and add frothed milk to enjoy as a herbal latte.
